What this is This is a free service from Militaria On the Web for collectors or dealers requiring help in identifying a specific item of military interest. What this isn't This isn't an alternative to reference books. Please dont forward details of items which are easy to look up via alternative sources. If you don't attempt to do some research yourself, then you are missing out on a valuable part of the experience of collecting. How to send details Send as detailed a description as possible. If there are markings on the item then describe them as best you can. Pictures are not essential, but they will often make identification much easier. IMPORTANT  Please post a MAXIMUM of 4 pictures. Pictures should be in jpg format (or jpeg) and filesizes of no more than 20kb. Please do not send original 640x480 format pictures (or larger)as the less editing we have to do the more enquiries we can post. Please note that we will now be including your return email address so that people can correspond with you directly. If you wish us to withhold your email address this is possible, however you must make this clear in the submission of your enquiry. & finally legal stuff We reserve the right to edit pictures or details to any extent prior during or post hosting on our sites You allow us copyright in those pictures which are submitted and to assign that copyright to a third party should we so desire. NOTE this is solely to allow us to move information between our Internet sites and to place these pictures on an alternative site belonging to us, or over which we have control, with the aim of obtaining further information on your item. You warrant that pictures are your property & original work over which no third party has any rights & will idemnify us agains any costs legal or otherwise should a third party be able to show a claim to information submitted. Please do not scan pictures from published works, (books, magazines, or otherwise) and please do not use pictures you have downloaded from other sites on the Internet. We have no control over replies received and information may or may not be factually correct. Information is therefore supplied on an "as is" basis with all faults and inaccuracies whether apparent or not and you agree that we shall have no liability, either financial or otherwise, for information which you may rely on as a result of items appearing on any of our sites or correspondence entered in to as a result of your using this site.
